Remembered by old timers as a Sweet Shop and Ice
Cream Parlor, this place was first used to make spokes and hubs
for wagon wheels with hand tools.
In 1894, as the Clifton House & Billy Wolf's
Saloon, it was said to be "one of the finest equipped saloons in
the county . . . illuminated with chandeliers of the patented
kerosene lighting system the brilliancy of which baffles the
eye.
"A place for the pleasure loving people of the
90's."
In 1926 it became a candy shop and ice cream parlor typical of
those times.
Since 1972 the Eigenberger family has been
devoted to The Villager and good food.
